Let her stay little
S.O.L. #3 out of 31
Let her stay little…
hop, skip, jump
spin and twirl
flowing blonde curls
of my little girl.
Let her stay little…..
swinging, playing
on her tippy toes,
running and chasing
but never in bows!
Let her stay little…
bounce, dance
wiggle and prance
still holding my hand
when we have a chance.
Let her stay little..
cartwheel, roundoff,
flip and flop
hoping and wishing that
giggles never stop.
Love the rhythm in this. I can tell you were watching gymnastics! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteA perfect poem for a little one in gymnastics! My daughters tried gymnastics recently. They enjoyed it, but did not love it. Instead we have moved on to dance ... and now I'm saying, "Let them stay little ..." But it's so fun watching them grow into their own! Enjoy these moments -- and continue capturing them in your writing!
ReplyDeleteI love the wording in this. I have 3 little girls, 2 of them could easily be described with the bouncy whimsical feel but the last is a little more Godzilla like. Little fades quickly, enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI considered revising the line to read "let her BE little" because I know that she will not "stay" little but I love that she skips, bounces and sings everywhere she goes. Everyone should feel so carefree!

DeleteMade me giggle and laugh and want to play!
